As the Director of product management, you will be expected to identify and prioritize the value we deliver to our customers while keeping delivery teams aligned and driving towards our future. In short, you “own” the success, growth, and profitability of the product lines you manage. However, since we are a matrix organization. You will need to create and communicate a vision that others will buy into. This position will report to the president of Leland’s Industries. This position will have direct responsibility for several team members and work in a large cross-functional team of leaders.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Drive plans to achieve results for shed and metal production teams and deliver against company objectives, key metrics, and bottom-line results.
Lead, coach, hire and develop team members.
Manage the product, place, promotion, and price of the product lines you are responsible for.
Become the company and industry expert on your product lines.
Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert.
Understand, research, and follow trends. Assess and make recommendations for product and process improvement.
Align with your team to build effective relationships with internal departments to produce a superior product
Ensure that all Leland’s standards and customer commitments (i.e., quality, safety, output, on-time delivery) are followed.
Be part of the overall company executive leadership team.
Establish a course of action for self or others to accomplish goals.
Analyze customers, markets, and opportunities to balance risk, technical complexity, and value.
Communicate clearly and drive decisions forward while ensuring alignment and transparency across the company
Coordinate & partner with cross-functional partners such as Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, and Customer Care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Communication – Be an effective motivator and clear communicator. This will include videos, conference calls, dealer meetings, and visits both large group and small.
Math – You must own and understand the P and L, Balance Sheet, ad-hoc analytics, pricing, margin.
Relationships – Key Vendors, Partners, Cross Function Leaders, Large Dealer Network, Executives.
Generalist – Since you are leading a cross-functional team. You must have a good understanding (but not a mastery) of production/construction, finance, analytics, customer service with a higher level of expertise in Marketing and sales.
Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information.
Operate with the customer’s interest in mind and take action based upon the best interest of Leland’s
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience: Five (5) years of product management, brand management, or GM roles in consumer business.
Education: BA; Masters or MBA preferred.
Construction or Backyard structure experience highly preferred.
Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to sit and stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Must be able to walk, stand, stretch, bend, twist, stoop, and kneel. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
